Mojo is a small business with a team you can count on two hands. On an average day we're not hiring. But not all days are average. So hit us up! At the very least, we'll be happy to put your info on file in case something opens up soon. Positions at Mojo include barista, buyer's assistant, and buyer. Everyone's involved in customer service and, to different degrees, inventory processing. Industry experience isn't always required, but a great work ethic is.

Jr. Buyer
This is a hybrid buyer / buyer's assistant position, with the long-term goal of becoming a senior buyer. Part time to start.
Jr. Buyer position involves:
- Buying books, records, cds, dvds, etc., from the public
- Researching, cleaning, and pricing used and new inventory with accuracy
- Shelving books, music, and movies with precision (accurate location and in alphabetical order)
- Customer service and cashiering
- Maintaining organization of sales floor and storage areas
- Social marketing
- Taking direction from senior buyers and coordinating with baristas and buyer's assistants
- Consistent hard work
- Generally doing what needs to be done in a small business (running errands, taking out trash, other randomness)
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic
- Strong knowledge of literature, music, culture, and a solid general education. If knowledge of books or music is especially extensive, may consider a candidate that has less strong knowledge of the other. Please note that there will be a written test to demonstrate knowledge and that the position requires awareness of both classic and contemporary authors and artists in genres throughout the store.
- Critical thinking and self-management: recognizing what needs to be done and doing it
- Kind customer service and interpersonal skills
- Organization and alphabetization skills
- Internet research and basic word/excel use
- Multitasking
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Sunday availability required. Monday availability preferred.
- Holiday availability (we close Thanksgiving and Christmas)
- 5+ years of work history
- Bookstore and/or record store experience is preferred, but not required
- Please note: we are unable to hire seasonally
Compensation:
$15/hr+, based on levels of relevant experience and knowledge of literature and music.
